Ballet

Danielle started ballet on Saturday!
Her two years of longing gets fulfilled.

Thank God He led us to a good program.

And now, our week begins
but my body and emotion is not quite ready to gear in.
And Danielle went to school with drops of tears on her cheeks because she didn't like the clothes daddy picked out for her and I couldn't tie her hair.
Ah! I get so angry and tiresome every time she does that.
I feel like a failure.

Gray Monday, gray hearted..

But after all, here I write again that my day turned out to be fine.
I was able to get some work done during the day and Sam willingly suggested we go over to my parents' house even though he came home tired and he knew there would be loads of work waiting for him, only him.
For me, visiting those people there is always such delight.
I just love the luv-vibe!
And, came back with two full hands of food and fruits.
Ahhhh!

Time to feed and put Brielle to sleep.
Nighty night. .

True jewel

Sweet Danielle..

Many months ago, on a warm late-spring early summer day, I was sitting on a sofa at my mom's living room and Danielle was busy following around her grandma while she was doing gardening in the yard. After some time of quietness, Danielle bursted in from the front porch and excitedly brought these cute pair that she had found in the garden right before my eyes. She yelled, "Mommy, Mommy! I got these earrings. Just for you! Like you make jewellery! I got these! For you!"

Wow. How did she know bits and parts of the nature are the true jewels for all?!

These will certainly be the earrings of my life time! And absolute one of a kind. : )

Intricate details and exquisite masterwork for such transient pieces... A glimpse of the Creator's competence.

my love, my darling. .

God gave me Danielle and He said that she would be my solace.

Yesterday night, we went grocery shopping and there were buckets of flowers on sale at the entrance. She picked up a bunch and insisted on buying it. She said, "Mommy's flower all withered so I need to buy new ones!" About a month ago, it was our 5th wedding anniversary and my husband bought a bouquet of red roses. I recently threw it out because the roses became black and old. I pulled out the bunch that Danielle put in the basket because I'd rather buy something useful with that money. I explained to her, "flowers are for special events, honey." Usually, she is very easy to talk to because she pretty much understands everything around her if I explain in proper words. But this time she wouldn't listen to my words and she put the flowers back in the basket. "No, mommy needs her flowers because her flowers all withered and we threw them out." I pulled them out and she put them back again. So I let the flowers to sit there for a while, thinking that I would persuade her out of it before the check out. We began our shopping, walked in the aisles putting things in our basket. And, every time she heard a hint of rustling sound of the paper that wrapped around the flowers, she immediately looked back with suspicion that her mommy was making a move to pull it out again. She made sure that the flowers were sitting there safely, positioning them correctly with her tiny wabbly hands. "I need them for mommy."

How sweet. . .
That's my story from yesterday.

Just now, father came and brought her to his house so that I could have some quiet time and work. In the drive way, sitting in her car seat, she repeatedly said "I love you, mommy" in English and "엄마 사랑해 (I love you, mommy)" in Korean, making heart shapes with her arms and fingers, blowing kisses, and then left.

I guess it's life.

Here are the flowers that she picked out for me.
Nothing fancy, a small bunch of Carnation.

Passion, Love, Life

Passion. . Love. . and Life.

I want passion to love life. When you see it in a person, you just know that she has it because you feel it all around her. I wonder this morning if I have that kind of passion, love and life inside me.

I want to find out the kind and tone of life imputed in me.

Here comes baby Danielle. One of my favourite pictures of her.. ^_^ The first expression my hubby made when I showed him this lovely picture was, "There is a dragon in the picture! (i.e. shadow of my hand)"

Contemporary Christian Music Concert and Art Show

I will be exhibiting one of my pieces at an art show on December 11, 2010.

A couple months ago, my huz got a beautiful wooden light stand perfect for placing business cards or for exhibiting small items.
So earlier tonight, I made a pretty shade to cover the light bulb. It helps to dim and direct the light onto the small table which is attached to the stand.

I should have it photographed and post it!

As I was making the shade, the little one in our house abruptly came into my studio plodding many of her toys with her. She sat beside me nosing on my business asking thousands of questions touching everything (which, by the way, is always stated as forbidden in the studio) around her, and then, she finally found a piece of red paper. A heart had been cut out from the piece and one side of it was snipped open. It was from the scraps left from the decoration I did for my friend on her bridal shower. However, my two year old daughter's eyes flashed with joyful curiosity when she found the piece as if she found a treasure. She held the discarded piece of paper in front of my busy eyes and said, "Mom, a heart!" She looked for her notebook, placed the piece of paper on a brand new page and started to trace a heart from it. Of course all of her attempts were not so successful. Her hands were still too small and her motions were wabbly. The paper slipped under her white mushroom size hand much before she finished a trace every time. They were more like indefinite scribbles, but a trace of heart. And, she got angry. LOL :)

I love the way she holds the pencil with her oh-so-cute small round fingers!!!

Anyhow, the one in the photograph is the piece I will be exhibiting at the show.
Hope the music is good and we have some fun there. :)
